Health Mats: Here Are Three Must-See Historic Mat Attractions in Philadelphia

By Vince Del Rossi

When many of us think of Philadelphia we think about how it’s home to the Declaration of Independence, The Liberty Bell, the best cheesesteaks in the world and even our beloved Philadelphia Eagles. Though Philadelphia is widely known for many key moments in American history, there are still other hidden historic gems that remain in the city today. For these reasons and many more, Philly continues to be a tourist destination for those who want to immerse themselves in deep-rooted history. Since we are a company based in Philly and serve the surrounding region, we feel privileged to call this special place home. Below are a few of our favorite must-see attractions in Philadelphia that we were lucky enough to provide commercial mat services to as well.

The National Constitution Center

According to their website, the National Constitution Center is “the first and only institution in America established by Congress to ‘disseminate information about the United States Constitution on a nonpartisan basis to increase the awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people.’” The National Constitution Center does more than just bring the Constitution to life. It serves as a hands-on, multimedia museum offering must-see exhibits, a national civic education headquarters featuring engaging educational resources and programs, and as America’s Town Hall, hosting speaker events on timely constitutional issues. With thousands of visitors year-round, the National Constitution Center serves as the perfect place for people to celebrate our founding documents in the birthplace of America’s democracy.

Since we know how important a beautiful entrance is for a place that holds this much meaning, we were honored to create a custom logo mat for the building. The 6×14 mat was strategically designed with the National Constitution Center logo in mind. We chose to do it this way so the mat would be visually appealing and welcoming to visitors from around the world. The result was eye-catching and a perfect size for the entrance of the building. We hope those who enter enjoy it as much as we do!

Museum of the American Revolution

Museum of the American Revolution is one of Philadelphia’s newest museums that opened its doors on April 19th, 2017. After welcoming more than 350,000 visitors in its first year, the Museum of the American Revolution is looking forward to a Revolutionary summer with extended hours, family-friendly activities and special events throughout Memorial Day weekend, Flag Day weekend and Independence Day weekend. The Museum also will open its new discovery center, Revolution Place, on June 9, 2018. The immersive playscape brings to life the Museum’s own lively, diverse Old City neighborhood during the 1700s and invites visitors to learn through hands-on exploration. The museum hopes that once visitors exit they have gained a new appreciation for how our nation came to be against incredible odds. It’s located just steps away from Independence Hall so visitors can get their history fill all within one little area!

When we were doing the logo mat for the Museum of the American Revolution, we wanted something that would engage visitors by showing the history and significance of the American Revolution. The logo on this entrance mat is a depiction of the stars representing the 13 colonies from George Washington’s headquarters flag. The flag was used to indicate the location of General George Washington during the battle. We thought it was the perfect way to welcome visitors to this incredible museum!

Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center

Uptown! Entertainment Alliance operates the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center as a home for live performance, film, education and the life of the community and is truly a people-powered project. The vision of a few and dedicated effort of many community members brought theater to life in the renovated National Guard Armory in 2016. Uptown! Has quickly become a cultural hub in West Chester’s downtown historic district. Families and individuals from across the region make Uptown! their home for quality live entertainment. People come from all over to share live entertainment with friends, family, neighbors and like-minded strangers.

In 2017 alone, Uptown! had 412 events at the theater with over 16,000 people, from 38 zip codes and 165 students enrolled in lessons and summer camp. When you have a building that experiences a large volume of people every single year, it’s important that facility managers protect their entryways. Our logo mat not only displays the Uptown! logo and colors, it protects visitors from slip and fall accidents and helps keep the building safe for everyone.

We were truly honored and proud to display our custom logo mats for 3 historic attractions in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. Is your facility building in need a logo mat that will help your business stand out?
