Montco legal community celebrates Law Day

The Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds office packs up their mobile equipment anywhere from twenty to thirty times per year to take their program to different parts of Montgomery County.

The Montgomery Bar Association hosted its annual Law Day celebration Tueday, part of a nationwide effort to celebrate the role of law in society and to cultivate a deeper understanding of the legal profession.

The MBA’s Law Day ceremony featured the swearing-in of new members to the Bar of Montgomery County during the past year, and the distribution of a number of awards, according to a posting at montgomerybar.org.

President Judge Thomas M. Del Ricci presided over the ceremony and invited Pennsylvania Superior Court President Judge Susan Peikes Gantman to deliver the annual Law Day address, which focused on this year’s theme of the Separation of Powers.  Michael E. Furey, Esq., Chair of the MBA’s American Citizenship & The Law Committee, and MBA President Mary C. Pugh spoke at the ceremony as well.
