Investor takes nearly 6 percent stake in PREIT real estate company

An individual named Zhengxu He has filed documents with the SEC indicating he owns more than 4.1 million shares of PREIT, the Philadelphia real estate investment trust that owns the Plymouth Meeting and Willow Grove malls.

In the SEC documents, He is listed as U.S. citizen, writes Natalie Kostelni to bizjournals.com.

Little is known about He and attempts to reach him were unsuccessful. Heather Crowell, spokeswoman for PREIT, said the company doesn’t comment on individual shareholders.

He’s investment history dates back eight years and involves taking large positions — 5 percent or more — in mostly real estate companies.
