Since craft breweries benefit from numerous people investing in them — patrons who enjoy drinking in a certain establishment will tell their friends about it — there is good reason for crowdfunding these businesses, says Ari Goldberg, founder of investment firm RNMKR.

“Crowdfunding can be a great tool if you have a company that would benefit from having multiple shareholders,” Goldberg said. “If you are starting a community or consumer-facing company, you can benefit from having numerous shareholders who also can be part of your marketing team and spread your message to their networks.”

There are many crowdfunding platforms available, including WeFunder, SeedInvest, Circleup and AngelList.
