HR tech company Phenom People raised $22 million in a Series B funding round, the Ambler-based company announced Thursday, bringing its total funding to $31 million to date.
The new round, led by AXA Venture Partners with existing investors Sierra Venture, Sigma Prime Venture and Omidyar Ventures also joining in, will fuel global expansion of Phenom People’s sales, marketing and product team and the hiring of about 150 people this year, Co-founder and Chief People Officer Brad Goldoor said, writes Michelle Caffrey in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The company, which creates software that helps HR representatives better market positions and manage the hiring process, employs about 300 people worldwide now; it was at about 90 when it raised its $10 million Series A two and a half years ago.
“We got the product into a more stable place, the infrastructure, the core base of employees, and got where we need to get to to be able to scale,” Goldoor said.
The company integrated features for internal mobility, referrals, a chat bot and other additional features to help HR recruiters become marketers, he said.
“They need to sell the company, they need to get over just filling positions and nurture passive talent, sell the employment brand, talking about what it’s like to work at the company,” he said, adding they bring marketing language into the HR world “We’re out talking about conversions, campaigns, analytics.”
