In addition to officially opening the doors of Montgomery County’s newest entrepreneurial ecosystem, the public is invited to celebrate the merger of Benjamin’s Desk and 1776, who have joined forces to provide greater support for entrepreneurs throughout the Northeast Corridor.

The Grand Opening of 1776 at Ambler Yards is on Thursday, April 12th, from 5 to 7 pm.

1776 is the northeast corridor’s largest network of innovators, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. Its campus at Ambler Yards in Lower Gwynedd, is part of a member-based network of more than 1,000 companies spanning along the corridor, including Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and Brooklyn, New York.

Aiming to provide mobile professionals, consultants, entrepreneurs, and startups across a range of industries with more than just office space, members are given access to capital resources, economic partners, high-profile networking events, and more—all with the explicit goal of helping them grow. In addition, all locations are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, lightning-fast WIFI, private meeting spaces, fully stocked kitchens, and top-of-the-line furnishings to keep the modern entrepreneur comfortable and productive.

This Grand Opening event will culminate with a fireside chat featuring two of Greater Philadelphia’s tech ecosystem champions: Serial entrepreneur (and Ambler native), Ned Moore, Chairman and CEO of Clutch, and highly recognized investor, Michael Golden- formerly of GSI Commerce. 1776 Co-CEO, Anthony Maher, will moderate the fireside chat.

Ned Moore brings more than 25 years of entrepreneurial and executive management experience to Clutch. He is known for an open and transparent leadership style with extensive experience in building high growth teams that execute on all facets of the business. Ned brings deep strategic, operational and financial skills to the team.

Michael Golden is the co-founder of Burb Media, a partner in The Conshy Girls Restaurant Group, the co-owner of Banh Street and a partner CandiDate. Michael presently sits on the board of directors of Yieldify (based in UK), Swirl Networks and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. He also the founded ShopRunner, a members-only shopping service with an online retailer network that spans today’s most popular brands. Michael was co-founder and COO of GSI Commerce, a leading e-commerce services company acquired by eBay in 2011.

This free event will be held at Ambler Yards, Building 4 (map it). Refreshments from local partners – Whole Foods, ‘feine Coffee, Banh Street and more will be served following brief remarks and a ribbon cutting. For those unfamiliar, Ambler Yards is a 250,000-square-foot industrial complex with 14 buildings scattered across 25 acres, right outside of Ambler Borough in Lower Gwynedd.
