Chemical manufacturer to close Upper Merion plant

Johnson Matthey Inc., a chemical manufacturer, plans to close its River Road plant in in Upper Merion, Pa., according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.

The move will result in layoffs for 119 employees, writes Natlie Kostelni at bizjounrals.com.

The closure and layoffs will take place between June 8 and Aug. 31, according to the WARN.

Johnson Matthey also has local operations in Audubon, Pa., Downingtown, Pa., West Chester, Pa., and West Deptford, N.J.
