Pottstown-based Sly Fox Brewing Co. is planning to open a restaurant at the former VF Outlet Center in Wyomissing. The restaurant will be located in the former Dooney & Bourke outlet along Hill Avenue. “We’re pretty pumped up to do something in the Reading-Wyomissing area,” Sly Fox managing partner John Giannopoulos said Monday. “We sell a lot of our beer in Berks County, and we think it’s going to be a great location for us.”

Giannopoulos said Sly Fox has signed a lease and will occupy the front half of the building. He does not know who will occupy the other half. Preliminary plans call for the restaurant to be open by late summer or early fall, writes Brad Rhen in the Reading Eagle.

Equus Capital Partners bought the struggling outlet center for $3.5 million in December 2016 and is in the midst of a $70 million project to transform the site into a complex that will include retail shops, boutiques and restaurants. The complex was renamed The Knitting Mills in honor of its past as the home of Berkshire Knitting Mills from the early 1900s until its purchase by Vanity Fair Corp. in 1969.

“We love that location,” Giannopoulos said. “I think it’s got a great vibe.”
