Gangster Vegan Organics is close to finalizing plans to move into the spot left vacant by neighboring Joe’s Seafood in West Norriton.

At 1200 square ft. it would double the size of the current space of the store, which opened in 2014. Vincent DePaul, founder and owner of Gangster Vegan Organics, hopes the expansion will be complete in three to four months.

DePaul is looking forward to the move as he envisions an opportunity for re-branding and beautifying.

“2.0-it. Create the franchise model and the look. Upgrade from where we are now,” explained DePaul while seated at the single table at the West Main Street store.

He says there will not be an expansive dining room, but there will be tables where people can meet for a juice or lunch in a fast-casual atmosphere. The business has grown from its origins of grab-and-go juices. Currently, the menu features a larger selection of juices, smoothies and wellness shots. Each are aptly named with monikers such as Flava in Ya Ear and Soul 4 Real. They also serve a variety of salads and bowls, most of which feature either kale, romaine or brown rice as a base.

After the move, DePaul expects the menu to expand even more with a focus on “Chipotle-style” customization.

“A lot of customers don’t know you can get the barbeque sauce on the kale salad. It’s not restricted. We are going to open it up and let them create their own masterpiece,” said DePaul, a Norristown native.

Director of Operations Miguel Osorio is excited about the possibility of a small vegan bakery out of the larger location.

“I want to be able to expand more of the breakfast offerings and breakfast pastries,” said Osorio.

Gangster Vegan Organics enjoys a 4.5 (out of five) star rating on Yelp with many positive customer reviews. There is also a second location on Gay Street in Phoenixville.

“It’s been amazing. Running a business, there are a lot of hurdles especially on the backend,” said DePaul.  As far as the front-end, it’s been amazing. We have been so supported by the community and people all over.”
