Early success and access to local talent are driving forces behind plans for expansion at a Main Line IT company.

Syapse, a leader in precision medicine solutions, has expanded its Philadelphia-area location in a larger office in Radnor, Pennsylvania, and announced plans to double its presence in the Delaware Valley in 2018, according to a press release recently issued by the company.

The San Francisco-based company, which enables hospitals and healthcare providers to deliver precision cancer care, closed $30 million in Series D financing last year and recently expanded internationally by entering the Asia-Pacific region.

The Philadelphia office hosts employees in a variety of functions, including software engineers, account managers, and operations support — all teams that Syapse plans to expand in 2018. The new office space is across the street from the Radnor regional rail station and has a cafeteria and fitness center.

“The Philadelphia region is a major center of both technical talent and leading healthcare organizations, which makes it an ideal location for high-growth health ITcompanies,” said Michael Italia, who leads the Philadelphia-area office and is Senior Director of Product Development at Syapse. “We have been fortunate to attract some tremendous talent in the area, and we’re proud to help make precision medicine a reality for more patients who need it.”

Syapse’s love of the area seems to be a growing trend, as other companies are realizing the Philadelphia region is no longer the ‘brain drain’ capital it was once considered.

Most recently, Conshohocken’s ShopRunner announced its plans to ‘hire aggressively’ in 2018.
