Simon Property Group is boosting its efforts to draw shoppers away from e-commerce and back to its malls by adding concierge bots to all of its properties, writes Suzette Parmley for Philly.com.

The fully integrated Facebook Messenger bot provides shoppers with real-time tips and information as they shop at locations such as King of Prussia Mall.

Among the questions that the concierge bot can help with are guiding visitors to a specific store, valet parking availability and a stores opening hours. It also lists current promotions so that shoppers can take advantage of limited time offers.

Once the bot learns more about the user, it can also give personalized recommendations along with access to lifestyle content specifically tailored to their interests.

The free bot app is powered by Snaps technology, which is behind the chatbots and emoji keyboards for over 120 major brands.

“Millions of Facebook Messenger users now have access to a broad set of information about their favorite center through Facebook Messenger,” said Mikael Thygesen, Simon’s chief marketing officer and head of innovation efforts.
