Kathi Cozzone

Chester County Commissioner Kathi Cozzone has announced her bid for Lieutenant Governor, aiming to bring local issues to Harrisburg’s attention and give the governor an advocate who can work across party lines, writes Michael Rellahan for the Daily Local News.

“I think the governor needs a partner who understands how to work across the aisle for the benefit of the residents of Pennsylvania,” said Cozzone.

She said that local government needs a voice to combat the systematic cuts forced on communities by the General Assembly.

“That isn’t the way to do things,” said Cozzone. “I think we can do it better, and I think I’m the one to do it.”

Cozzone started her political career nine years ago, after spending two decades in the private sector. The Democrat is currently in the middle of her third term as Commissioner with the election for Lieutenant Governor set for next year.

As evidence of her accomplishments during her time as Chester County Commissioner, Cozzone listed workforce development through her “Platform to Employment” program and support for behavioral health initiatives in the criminal justice system.
