Which Montco Neighborhoods Rank Among the Top 25 Most Educated in Greater Philly?

A new report in the Philadelphia Business Journal ranked the Top 25 Most-Educated Neighborhoods by ZIP code in Greater Philadelphia.

Included in the criteria are the highest number of adults with advanced degrees and data on population, median household incomes, and workers in management, business, science, and arts occupations.

Eight Montgomery County ZIP codes cracked the Top 25: Wayne, Villanova, Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne, Bala Cynwyd, Narberth, Wynnewood, and Merion Station.

Some interesting facts that the data revealed are:

  • In Wayne, 74.7 percent of adults aged 25 and older have a bachelor’s degree.
  • In Villanova and Gladwyne, the median household incomes are $188,977 and $188,606, respectively.
  • In Merion Station and Wynnewood, 59.6 percent and 50.8 percent, respectively, of adults aged 25 and older have an advanced degree.
  • In Narberth, 75.7 percent of the working population has a job in management, business, science, or the arts.

“It’s no secret that increased levels of education have a strong correlation to higher salaries in the workplace, which also affects affluence levels,” the article stated.
