Four Coaches to Be Inducted Into the Montgomery County Hall of Fame

Montgomery County Coaches Hall of Fame is adding four new inductees to its already impressive roster, according to a staff report from The Times Herald.

The four distinguished coaches from a variety of sports will be honored during the 16th annual induction banquet held at Normandy Farm in Blue Bell on November 21.

Jim Donofrio, basketball coach at Plymouth Whitemarsh High, has won over 400 games and a state championship. Meanwhile, Will Lapp, volleyball coach at Souderton High, has an overall record of 1146-304 and has also won a state championship.

Tom Lonergan, the girls’ basketball coach at Gwynedd Mercy Academy, has amassed a 662-252 record during his more than three decades at the school. And last but not least, Methacton High’s Cathy Miller has a 485-211 record as softball coach along with an impressive record of 107-21 as the girls’ tennis coach.

“It is exciting to see the spotlight shining on such a well-rounded class of inductees,” said Selection Committee Chairman, Gordon Glantz.
