Acting-A-Part, the theater and film school franchise for children of all ages, will be opening its doors to future stars in Fort Washington in June, writes Bruce A. Scruton for New Jersey Herald.

The school was founded fourteen years ago by Erica Lupo in Sparta, New Jersey, who came up with the idea during maternity leave. The concept quickly blossomed into a full-time business which she has now turned into a successful franchise. The Montgomery County School the third franchisee so far.

Each location offers a slightly different program, adjusted to suit the schools’ location. But the priority is always to stay true to the concept of introducing children to the performing arts.

According to Lupo, Acting-A-Part is the link that binds school plays and Broadway. As a part of the program, instructors give students the chance to truly express their creativity through theater arts, writing and producing. They also get the opportunity to practice these skills by creating and editing their own film features.

The program welcomes children from four years old up to mid-teens who help form its constantly evolving curriculum. Each of the franchise locations also has access to Lupo’s library that contains thousands of scripts, the majority of which are written by her.
