Owners of the upscale 251 DeKalb South apartment building in King of Prussia have decided to take their love of art to a new level by creating an art gallery in the lobby of the building, writes Gary Puleo for the Times Herald.

Candlebrook Properties LLC has hired a renowned gallerist and art dealer Kathy McCarver Root of KMR Arts to start the gallery under the name KMR Arts @ 251 in the South building’s lobby.

“Having exhibitions in the public space of 251 DeKalb is connected to the layering of art as interesting elements of décor and also adding depth to the environment,” said McCarver Root.

The opening display is a collection of alternative works by photographer Lisa Elmaleh titled “Everglades.” The artist, who specializes in techniques of 19th Century photography, said that her vision was shaped by the Everglades as she documented the flora and fauna of the area.

The exhibition at KMR Arts @ 251 is not only available to tenants and their guests, but for anyone who is interested. The current collection will be on display through the end of August and visitors just need to let the concierge know the purpose of their visit.

According to Candlebrook Properties Director Adam Zucker, the pieces on display are also available for sale.
